Small, medium, large, whites or brights look to a polka dot next time you think your crafty projects missing something . . .

A Memo From Momma

It has taken me a while to absorb all the great stuff I saw at festival.

One of the most surprising was when the quilt angel I was talking to flipped up the corner of one of the big winners of the show and underneath where the binding was attached, was a row of decorative MACHINE stitches.

In the year 1 B. C. when I started quilting nothing was ever done by machine, it made everything take forever and I could never really cut loose and do what I wanted. I love the new attitudes in quilting that allows us all to let our creative juices flow!

A Memo from Momma

International Quilt Festival Starts today! I can't wait to learn new tips and techniques and shop for all the new stuff. I will be posting my pictures soon!

Quilts make great Christmas gifts. It is like giving a warm hug! Lap quilts are esp. good gifts you can cuddle up in them, take them along to sporting events and concerts in the park, or you can use the as art for your walls and furniture. Quilts last and are often handed down in families, 100 year old quilts are not that uncommon and they keep their value. A very special and classy gift!

Love,
Mom

a post

Life has been a bit crazy lately and Im missing my sewing.

Did pick up this little gem, she cant really be THAT crafty can she?

Wish my sewing room was this tidy.

Cute idea for those eco-friendly crafters.

More for you eco - friendly peeps.

It getting colder outside makes me want to knit, purl.

Love this pic of Tina Givens in action, kinda how I imagined her too.

People are getting crafty wedding style! Adorable table flowers and paper crafts decorations.

Off to see the wizard!

Quilts made with LOVE mean more and keep you warmer, well I think so at least.

Oh dont forgot this!

A Memo from Momma

So, we were talking about quilt love, here are a few more ways to use the quilts you love,

4. Take it with you to those cool weather sporting events. A small quilt is easy to pack and fun to share with a friend.

5. Hang it on the stairway wall, unlike art with glass in it, it will bend to a curve and it's no big deal if it gets hit by that ball no one threw.

6. Fold it over your sleeping pillows at the head of the bed. It's a great pop of color without all the fuss of a jillion expensive decorator pillows.

Let me know how you use the quilts you love.

A Memo from Momma

Do I love my quilts because they have so many uses or do they have so many uses because I love having them around? Who knows? Here are a few ideas to get you started on a love affair of your own.

1. curl up on the couch and when your done just drape it over the edge as a cool room accent.
2. fold it long ways along the foot of the bed to add color to your comforter.
3. put over your pets favorite sleeping spot, a small quilt is waay easier to clean than a chair cushion or big bulky comforter.

I could go on and on but this a memo not a novel! More next time,
Momma

Treasury

Playing around with Etsy's treasury. Check them out- ATX and Pink Perfection

Speaking of local... Austin is a pretty GREEN place to live. We love our local, organic, homemade here. So Ive been looking up some sites for great organic fabrics.
Mod Green Pod - is an Austin based company with beautiful fabric prints and wallpaper. You can even design your own room. Pretty swank.
Modern Organic Fabrics - is based alittle further north, Wisconsin. There's a great selection of designers and lines on this site. Both have twitters you can follow.
Daisy Jane - Kinda stumbled on to this one. Her Etsy shop boost hemp/cotton blends with original printings.
Laurie Wisbrun - While not organic she is local. Her adorable prints got picked up by Robert Kaufman. View her Etsy page, scarletfig, to see her whole collection of bright truly cute fabrics.

Favorites - totes/ bags

Simple Totes - Great for market days or trips to the beach.

Diaper totes - Lined with oil cloth and plenty of pockets. Cute and handy enough for baby or mom.

Fun summer clutches.

My Favorites - Quilts

So I love all my quilts but heres some that I really enjoyed making.

This Beautiful rustic Joel Dewberry Quilt was sold via AllwithLOVE .
This sweet crib quilt was also sold.
This one is probably my favorite. Its bright and beautiful with detailed stitching throughout.
One of my first and made with some of my favorite fabrics. Hooray for Tina Givens.
This classic twist to the snail trail was made for a lil boy. Creepy crawlers seemed fitting.
One of the newest to the AllwithLove collection. Wanted to create a very girlie quilt but still have some interest. Props to my mom on the great stitching.
One of my first commissioned quilts. Oh henry with an Amy Butler flare.

Girlie quilt number two! So fun with pink sparkles, polka dots, fancy elephants and soft pink and green flannel.
The quilt for the one who taught me best, mom. The colorful snowmen and soft brown reminded me of hot coco in winter.
So this is one of my first real quilts and I was brave enough to be making it for my boyfriends mom. It turned out great though.

Want to see more ? Or want your own?? Look at AllwithLOVE or contact me.
