Cute DIY project

Each holiday season I like to make a little something for my friends and family. Last year I made little fabric bird ornaments. This year I didn't quite have the time to whip up 20 or so little birdies but I did find this little project.

Mod Podge make an easy to use resin which is great for various crafts. I used it to fill jewelry tins ( found at my local hobby lobby ).

I used magazine clippings and fabric scraps to find cute little designs to place in the tins.

Tracing around the tins made cutting the correct fabric piece easier.

Example of fabric in jewelry tin without resin in place.

Once the tins were filled with the resin I placed them someplace safe and out of reach from my kitties curious nose and paws. The resin was whitish but dried clear. I sprinkled some glitter in a few to add some glitz.

The resin took about 24 hours to fully set. And thats it!! I think finding designs and pictures to match my friends personalities was pretty fun and there was almost no mess.

What a week!

Last week we were in a whirlwind of thread, sewing and fabric getting ready for Craft Riot. There was a lot to work on and prepare for but as always we pulled it together in time to have a fun and successful show.
As you can see from the window in the background we sewed late into the night on more then one day.
This is bag making at its finest! We cranked out some 20 + bags for the show.

We'll have what didnt sell at the show posted soon on our Etsy.
One of the fabulous quilts my mom whipped together for the show. Sorry guys it sold but we'll have similar one soon!

Rainbows

Ive been in a colorful mood lately and this post couldnt have been more perfect. Who doesnt love their ROYGBIV?
I decided to work with printed fabrics instead of solids and play with different background colors. Which do you prefer? Cream or steel?
Im going to quilt each stripe with a matching color thread, that way I can have some rainbow fun on the back of the quilt as well!!

Thinking of cooler weather in Texas

Yes its only July and about 104 degrees outside but AllwithLOVE is staying cool and thinking holidays. Heres a sneak peek at some of the festive winter goodies we just got in.

I love this damask pattern and Im always a sucker for white on white prints. They make great coordinating fabrics and add a touch of interest without being to crazy.
Winter fun with blues and browns.
Isnt this "sweater" print great! Cant wait to use it. Think Thom kat is going to need a holiday jacket made out of it for sure!

The fabric explosion that is my office right now! I swear there's organization in all that. Keep an eye on AllwithLOVE for new items. Theres new quilts coming in crib/baby and lap sizes.

Pics from Oregon Trip

Oregon from the air. Its so green there!
These use to be my favorite flowers when we lived in Wisconsin! Sadly they do not grow in Texas.
My friend and partner in crime Kim!!
Day trip to Newport was fun but rainy. It rained a lot while I was there.
The flowers are so bright and colorful!!!
I was so excited about going to the International Test Rose Garden and seeing hundreds of roses blooming!! But NOT a ONE was blooming! Oh well...
